Portsea and the Mornington Peninsula, one of our Sundays trips

On Sunday we decided to keep celebrating the arrival of Spring and the weather didn’t disappoint, it was absolutely wonderful, 22 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. We drove to Portsea on the Mornington Peninsula and it very a nice relaxing trip, even considering the fact that I was tired after my huge Saturday night. We visited a historic quarantine centre as it was here that emigrants use to be separated from the general Melbourne population upon arrival if people were sick on the boat. This was to protect the settlers in Melbourne from the diseases which infected the emigrants from Europe. Portsea, which is a very small town is actually the most wealthy post code in Australia and has more tennis courts per square kilometre than anywhere else in the world. I am actually considering moving in there ;)

The historic quarantine centre

W niedzielę postanowiliśmy w ciągu dalszym świetować wiosnę, a pogoda poraz kolejny nas nie zawiodła, totalnie cudowna, 22 stopni bez ani jednej chmurki na niebie. Pojechaliśmy do Portsea w Mornington Peninsula, och była to bardzo relaksująca wycieczka, pomimo mojej zmęczenia po sobotnich szaleństwach. 

Odwiedziliśmy historyczne centrum w, którym odbywała się kwarantanna, to tu właśnie byli zatrzymywani wszyscy ludzie z łodzi na, których w tracie podroży do Australii odkryto chociażby jedną chorą osobę. Ludzie z łodzi w tym właśnie centrum byli odseperowywani od reszty mieszkańców Melbourne, miało to na celu ochrone mieszkańców tego miasta przed europejskimi chorobami. 

Portsea to właściwie bardzo malutkie miasteczko, które jest znane jest z faktu, że mieszkają tutaj najbogatsi ludzie z całej Australii. Znajduje się tutaj najwiecej kortów tenisowcy na kilometr kwadratowy w porównaniu do reszty świata. Ja właściwie biorę pod uwagę przeprowadzenie sie tam :)
