21st of December, 2013

A few days before Christmas Marcus invited me for a end of year lunch at Nobu restaurant at South Bank. It was such a nice Saturday, 21st of December 2013.  The Christmas atmosphere was everywhere, which made me really happy as I love Christmas.

We went for lunch at Nobu at South Bank.

On the evening before this lovely Saturday we went out for Carole’s leaving do. We met Santa and his two helpers!

We were with celebrities that Friday. They are the same Dwarfs!!!

While we had our lunch Santa came again, as I told you Christmas was everywhere and Santa was following us :)

When Santa left I updated my Facebook profile with “Santa again and xmas hasn’t even started yet, can it get any better” haha I really didn’t know that actually it could get better, actually much better but more about that in a few seconds :)

Santa gave us one more xmas present.

Now, we have a special name for this present J

It was my first proper Christmas in Australia. Even now when I am looking back at all these photos I feel happy, it is like I am having Christmas again.

After lunch we went for a walk along South Bank and end up having few drinks at a bar in South Wharf. I really like South Wharf, for many people it may be a bit boring, definitely not trendy but I like it there. I liked this place from the first day I went there for a walk with Misia.

The weather was nice enough so we sat outside next to the river on the beanbags under the Palm Trees.
A few weeks before, we were in the same bar with Claire and Brendon sitting on the exactly the same beanbags, having a few drinks, enjoying a lovely Sunday day.

I remember we were talking at the time with Brendon and Claire about a couple that was having their wedding photos taken there. Marcus said “why would you take your wedding photos here, this place is not pretty or romantic” and I said to him “ you never know, they may have a reason for taking photos exactly here, maybe he proposed to her here"

Some photos from that Sunday drinks with Brendon and Claire.

The famous beanbags and Palm Tree. Behind us is where the couple were taking wedding photos.

Back to Saturday 21st of December. We were sitting in exactly the same place, talking about  2013, discussing what happened in our life during this year. We both agree that it was an incredible year, I remember I said to Marcus: “It was a truly great year but if I can be honest with you I really thought that in this 2013 you will propose to me”  I turned around to take a quick drink and when I looked back at Marcus he had a ring in his hand. I was so surprised and confiused, I could not comprehend what was actually happening. "Is he proposing, is he giving me a ring, what is he doing". I was speechless and believe me it doesn’t happen to me that often.
I always thought that if one day Marcus would propose to me I would feel it's coming but I didn’t. Now when I am writing this post and thinking about that Saturday I remember Marcus was very much himself maybe a little bit more sweet and calm but he hadn’t sent any signals that he was about to pop the question J .

When he was asking me if I will marry him, I am almost sure he was a bit shy and nervous, which I think it is very sweet. I said yes and I could not stop crying ha ha very silly.
And as soon as I said “yes” a bird shat on Marcus's head J ha ha apparently its good luck J

There were two guys passing by, they stopped and said “ We are sorry we are interrupting but we have been watching you for a while and we would like to congratulate you”.

For the rest of the day, well actually for the rest of the weekend I was on the phone with my family and friends.

The same Saturday Connor visited us from London, which was a very nice coincidence that he was there on our engagement day. We met him literally a few hours after we got engaged. Connor is a good friend of ours and he was around from the first day when Marcus and I started dating.

Announcing our engagement to our families and friends was a very emotional experience, It was all very surreal, like a combination of dream and reality...

On Sunday we had a few drinks in Docklands with Connor and Claire. The weather was weird, it was really hot and by the end of the day we had a storm.

We were sitting in the pub celebrating our engagement.

When we left the pub, Docklands welcomed us with this amazing sunset :)

A few post engagement family pictures with a xmas tree in the background.
Its our first xmas tree, which we bought together :)
Misia, Marcus, our engagement xmas decoration and the ring on my finger.

Cheesy ?! ahhh yeah probably ha ha  :)

Xmas day we were spending with Marcus's family in Sunbury. Emily and Chris were organising Xmas lunch at their place. That day we found out that Emily and Chris got engage the day after us, and if not the fact that Emily had to work on Saturday, Chris would have proposed to Emily the same Saturday. Can you imagine how everybody was surprised, it was such a coincidence.

We called Marcus's uncle in NZ and told him the good news, we asked him not to tell any Logans from Melbourne as they didn't know yet and we wanted to tell them ourselves in person. At the same time Chris and Emily called him to and told him the same thing and again asked him to keep it to himself until they tell us :)

Emily's ring is the square one and mine isthe round one.

Sharon also made us one of her famous cakes and we celebrated our engagement one more time.

A few days later we met Marcus's friends for a drink. And you know what ... they got engaged too :)

  1. Gratuluję jeszcze raz! Bardzo cieszę się Twoim szczęściem! Niezły zbieg okoliczności z tymi zareczynami. Najlepszy był ten znak na szczęście jak ptak zrobił kupę na głowę Marcusa.
